So I have been going crazy on trying to find a cute way to display the student learning objectives in my classroom. I can't handle just writing down the ojective everyday. For one I really don't like looking at my handwriting and two it isn't cute. So I found this idea on pinterest where a teacher used a ribbon to display her classroom rules. And the thought came to me. I could do the same thing except display the learning objectives. So working with a fellow teacher we came up with a great idea. Hang a ribbon on your wall. We are using cute little owl subject headers (can be found in my store) attached to clothespins. The clothespins we are then going to attach to the ribbon.
This makes it easy to change out the learning objective whenever needed. Right now we are in the process of typing up the learning objectives for our respective grade levels. And of course they will have polka dots on them! :) I will post pictures along the way of our progress. So please keep checking back!
Ok they are finally finished! It took us quite a while to finish them. Then we had to find someone to print them that wouldn't break the bank. We tried Staples, Office Depot and even Kinkos. all of those places we're over $100 for each of us! We couldn't believe it and refused to pay that much. So one day while out with my husband he and I were talking about it. He suggested Target Copy. So we went by with me thinking they were going to be high too. Well needless to say they weren't! They beat all the other places by 50%! We got both grade levels printed I full color on card stock (we supplied our own to save on cost) and it only cost us $112! I couldn't believe it!

Garage Sales
So I managed to talk my husband into going to some garage sales with me on Saturday. We loaded both kids up and went to a church sale right near our house. I feel like I hit the jackpot! I only spent 3.50 but I feel as though I got a treasure. My husband found it so I guess I should give him the credit for it. But anyways we managed to find a piece of solid wood furniture that once we clean it up it will work great in my classroom. It stands about 4 feet tall and has several "cubbies" to hold paper and baskets. I will post a picture of it later. Now I am on the hunt for cute baskets to go in the cubbie holes. The problem is that they are an odd size. They are perfect for just holding paper but I want it to look cute and organized. The hole size is 9" by 10". Every where I have looked the paper baskets overall size is to big for the hole. I may end up taking out shelves to make the hole taller so I can fit bigger baskets.

I am new to blogland so please bare with me as I learn how to do everything there is to do. I am currently not in the classroom this year, but am anxious to get back in the classroom. In preparation for doing that I have been busy creating new things for my future classroom. Please check my TPT store for all downloadables. I enjoy creating new and fun things for my students. I can't wait to start putting my classroom together. I will find out on June 7 which is teacher transfer day if I will be lucky enough to have a classroom next year. I am staying hopeful. It is so hard now a days to get a classroom position. But in the mean time I enjoy spending my afternoons with my two children and not grading papers which has been a big plus this year as my daughter is only 13 months old. :)
